Calling all authors of papers being submitted for the 30th EECERA Conference in Zagreb!

We are delighted to say that applications for the 2020 EECERA Student and Practitioner Research Awards are now being accepted.

The EECERA Student Research Award is open to postgraduate students with appropriate status from any recognised university whose research is aimed at developing early childhood policy or practice.

Quote Mark I have been following the EECERA activities for quite a while, but this year it was for the first time when I had an opportunity to attend the EECERA Conference in person. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience that will stay with me for a long time as a landmark in my professional development and growth. The conference allowed me to experience an abundance of positive emotions. I was fascinated with a scope and quality of research presented as well as touched with the fact that EU scholars and practitioners are keen on learning about Canadian ECEC context. I was very honored to receive the Award for the Best Student Research Paper. All in all, I am very grateful for being a part of this professional event."
Dasha Shalimo, the winner of the EECERA Best Student Research Paper 2019

The EECERA Practitioner Research Award is open to anyone working in an early years setting or other organisation working with young children.

Quote Mark 'It was a surprise and a great honour for me to win the Practitioner Research Award. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Award Committee. You have given me a lifetime opportunity as a practitioner.'"

The research is not restricted to any particular methodology and entries can be submitted by an individual or a group. The research project should be nearing completion or have been written up within the past three years. It must be presented at the upcoming conference in Zagreb (and therefore a proposal must be successfully submitted for review in the call for papers which ends on 2nd March 2020). The awards ceremony will take place on the last day of the 2020 Conference.

To apply for the awards, please complete the online form(s) which can be accessed via the links below:

The deadline for submissions for both awards is 23:59 [BST] on Monday 17th August 2020.

All entries will be reviewed against a set of academic and scholarly criteria. The entries exhibiting the highest standards of scholarship and practitioner research originality will be awarded a certificate, free EECERA membership for a year (2021) and a subscription to two Taylor and Francis journals (winners’ choice) for one year.

EECERA will also award the ‘Best Published Paper’ (pdf) in the EECER Journal, jointly sponsored by Routledge and EECERA. All authors who have published in the last completed EECERJ volume of published papers (Volume 27) are eligible for this award. The winning paper will also be announced in Zagreb.

We look forward to receiving your applications.
